Rev. Dr. Wilfred Jordan Obituary

The Rev. Dr. Wilfred Jordan, 90, went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2021. He was married to the love of his life, Wilma Jean, for sixty-five years, (who preceded him in death in 2018), and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, and friend.  He was a very creative and compassionate man who loved the Lord and loved life! His ministry and faith have roots in the doctrine and practices generally espoused by the Church of God Reformation Movement, Anderson, Indiana.  Dr. Jordan also served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.

A native of Cleveland, OH, he was retired from the personnel staff of the General Motors Corporation Fisher Guide division in Anderson, IN, where he fulfilled special assignments in the division’s substance abuse program. He was a graduate of Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR, and received a Master of Divinity degree from Anderson University’s School of Theology, as well as honorary doctorate degrees from Warner Pacific College and Mid America Bible College.

His service to the church includes pastorates in Wichita, KS, San Diego, CA, and in 1971, he joined the Church of God World Service Division staff as director of international affairs, and served as president of Bay Ridge Christian College, and volunteer editor in chief of the National Association of the Church of God’s Shining Light Publication for fifteen years.

He is survived by son Wilfred Neil (Elena); daughters Winell Susan and; Jennifer Joy; Grandchildren, Austin Jacob; Amaris Christina; Ashlee Marie; Jordan Davis; Jennifer Nicole; Jarrid Matthew; Great grandchildren, Raegan Renee Lynn; Ryleigh Renee Lynn; , Amiyah Jade; Aryanna Reyne, and Mara Lynne; Brother, Morris; Sisters, Brenda and Gloria, and a host of other friends, relatives, and colleagues. 

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Sherman Street Church of God Marvelous Monday Children’s Ministry.  Services Entrusted to L. C. May Funeral Services.
