Viola Y.F. Barnes
Sister Viola Yvonne Farley Barnes 75, passed away June 1, 2020 at her residence. She was born December 8th, 1944 in Anderson Indiana to Elizabeth Bostic Smith and Allen Farley. She graduated from the original Anderson High School.
She was employed at RCA in Marion IN. and later hired on at Delco Remy General Motors as a member of Union local #662 until her retirement in “2005” She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and later united with Anderson Zion Baptist church, serving on the kitchen committee. Viola enjoyed traveling, shopping, TV game shows (Family Feud especially), playing cards, watching sports, and most of all spending time with all of her family, especially grandkids and great-grand kids.
Viola is survived by her daughter; La Gaye Patterson of Kansas City, MO, son William (Brenda) Bannister Anderson, IN, Step Brother Willie Smith Jr. Indianapolis, IN. Grandkids; Travon Hudson, LaZxeena Hudson, Terry Boyd, Nyrell Foard, all of Anderson, IN, Tashae (Jacob) Gray of Cameron, NC, Breana Bannister of Brooklyn, NY, T’Ahvalo Patterson and LaKyahna Patterson of Kansas City, MO. Great-grand kids: Jalen Kemmerlin, Tae’vion Gould, JaZlynn Hudson, and JaMya Hudson all of Anderson, IN and Victoria Gray of Cameron, NC.
Cousin Clarence (Teresa) Harris SR. a host of cousins, family, and friends. A special son Myron (Brenetta) Bannister Columbus, OH. Special friend/sister Marilyn Miles. Special daughter, Immaculeen Maggie Davis- Southers. Special sister-in-law, Marcille Bannister.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth B. Smith and Allen Farley. Grandparents Willie and Annie Bell Bostic Jr., Step father Willie Smith Sr, and Aunt Mary B. Rucker.
