Steven T. Hendricks

Steven Troy Hendricks Sr., 47, peacefully transitioned from this world on May 5, 2025, in East Lansing, Michigan. He was born on September 14, 1977, to Lisa Hendricks and Gilbert Smith Sr. in Muncie Indiana.

Steven attended Muncie Community Schools until he moved to Michigan in 2002 to further his education. While in Michigan, Steven was employed at Pratt and Whitney Auto Air INC. He also coached basketball, was a mentor and professed his life to God. Steven enjoyed sports, life and learning, he was known for his infectious laughter and that million-dollar smile. Steven had a way of acknowledging the essence of prayer and would often end conversations praying and a reminder that God and he both loved you. His outlook on life itself was incredibly uplifting and favored dedication of making the best out of everything you do, he had a saying “you do what you’re supposed to do, when you supposed to do it.”

Steven leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Lisa Hendricks and Gilbert Smith Sr. His children Steven, Natalya, Da’Vonte, Daveon, Steven Jr. and Elyjah. His brothers, Andre Hendricks Sr., Gilbert Smith Jr., Shawn Smith and Darren Hill. His sisters, Constance Jones and Yvette McCallum, special childhood friends that were like his brothers, Scotty Thomas, Lonnie Motley, Greg Moses, Jerome Williams, Jamie Welch, Kevin McDonald as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his son, Datrion, his brother Darray McCallum, his maternal grandparents Odessa and Robert Hendricks Sr., and his paternal grandparents, Sharon Duncan and Robert Barnes Sr.
