Rodrick Jerome “Rome” King, 45, passed away January 30th at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson from complications of heart disease. He was born November 29, 1978, to Samuel L. King, Sr. and Pearline King in Anderson, Indiana.
Rome, as he was affectionately called, worked at Lee’s Famous Recipe for several years until his health declined. He was a musician (drummer), audio-visual tech and enjoyed wrestling and football in his pastime. He was a collector of old school metal cars and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Rome was a member of Greater Saint Mark Church of God in Christ where he was in charge of the audio-visual equipment.
Rome leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Superintendent Samuel L. King, Sr. and First Lady Pearline King. Children, Quindin King of Kentucky, Nyasia King of Muncie, Yazmin King of Kentucky, Neveah King and Aaliyah Donald of Marion. Sisters, Lisa M. King of Texas and Elaine M. Taylor. Brothers, Samuel L. King, Jr. (Fredericka), Jason D. King and Donte’ L. King (LaTisha). He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Rome was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tommy L. King, Sr. and Virginia King and maternal grandparents, Arthur Lewis, Sr. and Willie B. Lewis and several aunts and uncles.
