Robert L. Barnes Jr.

Robert Lee Barnes, Jr., 59, passed away on February 14, 2021 after a courageous battle with MS.  He was born on January 28, 1962 in Anderson, the son of Lorine and Robert Barnes, Sr.  Robert graduated from Anderson High School in 1981.   After high school, Robert served in the United States Marine Corps in Washington DC.

He was employed at General Motors where he retired after 10 years of service.  He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Church where he attended until his illness prevented him from doing so.  Robert enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was a caring husband, father, son, brother and friend.

Robert is survived by his wife, Tammie (Smith) Barnes: three sons, Chase Barnes, Terrell Barnes and Tyler Barnes; sisters, Seta Stennis, Aleta Barnes Sanchez, (Joel), Leah Bond, brothers: Gilbert Smith, Jermaine Hopkins, (Alisha) and father, Robert L. Barnes Sr. (Mona).

Services will be begin at 1:00pm Saturday February 20, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church 615 Henry St. Anderson.  Visitation will begin at 12 Noon.
