Robert Armstrong Obituary

Robert H. Armstrong, 77 entered into his eternal rest on November 26, 2021. He passed away at Community Hospital in Anderson. Robert was born April 14, 1944, in Columbia, TN to the late Jake and Charlotte Armstrong. He was enlisted in the United States Navy aboard the USS Yellowstone AD-27. While stationed in the Navy, he visited such places as Cuba, Spain, Gibraltar, France, Italy, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Robert worked for General Motors for 32 years in skilled trades. He attended Ivy Tech Community College and several trade schools and programs along the way. Robert was instrumental in helping General Motors on the groundbreaking launch of its first electric car prototype. He was sent to California for this important task. There wasn’t an engine or motor that Robert couldn’t tackle. He also built his own roadster and airplane. He was a proud licensed Pilot. He has awards and certificates to numerous to mention that shows his exceptional talents. He was a founding member of the A Town EZ Riders Motorcycle Club,a member of Peerless Lodge #32, and he was a member of several Gun Clubs, along with other clubs. He leaves to cherish his precious memory one child, DeShonda Armstrong Goodwin, three Grandchildren, Sheridan Chrisp, Meliek Bryant and Breyona Goodwin, and one Great grandson Kaison Chrisp. Also surviving him are three brothers Charles (Louann) Armstrong, David (Evelyn) Armstrong and Best friend Larry (Garnetta) Armstrong, three Sisters, JoeAnn Burk, Lois (Dwight) Greene and Pam (Keith) Stokes, very special niece Amiyah Armstrong, stepson Brian Patterson, special friends, Dwight Greene, Sheila Kelly, Dewayne Hamilton, and Lindsey Brown. Also, a host of nieces and nephews and special Nashville Tennessee cousins and friends remain. He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Charlotte Armstrong, one brother James Louis Armstrong and one sister Janice Marie Armstrong.
