Obituary

Ozell Stennis 85 of Anderson passed away at community hospital Tuesday Dec. 8, 2020 after an extended illness. He was born August 16, 1935 in Gholson, MS, the late son of Dave and Lillie Stennis.

Ozell later moved to Anderson in 1959, he worked for Delco-Remy for 6 years after being laid off, he then landed a job in the Labor Union for Barns Construction Co.  After working 32yrs Ozell retired from Barns in 1996.

His favorite sports were fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV. He also enjoys spending time with family & friends.

Ozell leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Ozelee (Regina) Stennis, Tommy (Belinda) Stennis, Dorothy Brown, Audrey Stennis all of Anderson, Jimmy (Latashia) Stennis of Fort Wayne, Brandy Stennis of Illinois, a brother Robert Stennis of Anderson; 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces & nephews, and a special friend Robert Fuller. 

Ozell was preceded in death by his parents Dave, and Lillie Stennis, Ex-wife Peggy Rucker, 3 sons David Stennis, Michael Stennis, Jamie Coles, a daughter Patricia Stennis, siblings Aslena Chamberlin, Ruby Stennis, Rosell Young, Beatrice Harrison, Ethel Ree, Madelle Stennis, Leila Cole, Maxine Wheeler,  brothers, Leola, William Stennis, O.T Stennis, Earnest Stennis, and D.V Stennis
