Markis D. Harris was born January 5, 1988 in Clifton, IL to Marcus Randle and Katy Harris. He was baptized at Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church by Pastor Ronald Bartlett. He completed his education through Job Corps.
Markis was a forklift operator for Prairie Farms. He was also self-employed at Top to Bottom Services. Markis was a hard worker, excellent father and loved motorcycles, and telling jokes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Marcus De’Mone and Amanda Randle of Anderson, IN; four sons, Akyr Harris, Markis Harris Jr. and Marquell Ford, all of Anderson, IN and Akyrion Wilson of Chicago, IL; two daughters, Tyra Ford and Tierra Jones, both of Anderson, IN; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Rashaan Drew of Kankakee, IL, Michael and April Randle and Devante Goldsmith all of Anderson, IN; one sister, Leslie Harris of Anderson, IN; his fiancée, Marquita Ford of Anderson, IN; a grandson, Ty’lin Jones of Anderson, IN; four aunts, Annette and Robert Hammond, Helen Brooks and Thomasina and Leonard Mobley, all of Kankakee, IL and Estelle and Tyron James of Columbus, Mississippi; four uncles, Cornelius and Keita Key and Reginald Key, both of Locust Grove, GA, Anthony and Xavia Key of Indianapolis, IN and Stevie and Pamela Harris of Detroit, MI; a special cousin, Robert Hammond III of Anderson, IN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katy Carolyn Harris; his grandmothers, Earnestine “Pepper” Randle Key and Mary Brooks; his grandfather, Harvey Clark and two uncles, Thomas Brooks and Johnnie Brooks.
