Leonard Patterson
Leonard Patterson, 84, of Anderson, passed away from natural causes on Sept. 19, 2022. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Leonard was born Aug. 31, 1938, to William "Dude" and Mary Patterson. He was a graduate of Anderson High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Delco Remy after 43 years. Leonard loved music, especially jazz, and enjoyed playing the organ and performing with his brothers as a member of the Patterson Brothers Trio. He loved playing cards, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Jennifer Coates, Dayton, Oh., Lori (Darren) Kirkland, Indianapolis, his son, Leonard (Jessica) Patterson II, Anderson; sisters, Hattie Turner, Rosanna (Andre) Streaty, Queen Esther (Billy) Payne; all of Anderson; brothers, Richard Patterson, Anderson and Leslie Patterson, Palm Coast, Fl.; four grandchildren, Elexis Ackerson, Indianapolis, Devin Patterson, Atlanta, Ga, Alyssa Kirkland, Indianapolis, and Lendon Patterson, Anderson; special friends Leona Rhodes, Kayston Smith and Richard Cook; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Beverly J. Patterson; sisters, Ida Mae Parks, Fannie Fuller, Ollie Patterson, Arnetta Hawkins and Martha Early; brothers Bennie Patterson, James Patterson, William C. Patterson, Matthew Patterson, and David Patterson.
