Della Marie Ball Duke 59, passed away on June 25, 2026, at Community Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 14, 1966, to Elizabeth P. Horton Ball and James Ball. She was a devoted member of the South Anderson Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she drew immeasurable comfort from Jehovah’s promise of a resurrection of life with no more sickness, death or pain.
Della was educated in the Anderson Community School System, graduating from Madison Heights High School in 1985. She worked at Edgewater Wood, retiring in 2016 after 17 years of service.
Della loved and enjoyed spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her spiritual family where she could share her faith and future hope. Della was known for her outgoing personality, laughter and generous spirit.
She leaves to share he beautiful memory her devoted husband, King Duke; son, Marcus Jones; daughters, Shania Smith and Ashley Duke; grandchildren, Alexis Jones, DaLayni Wilkins, Marcus Jones, Jr., Lamarius Jones, Enya Boards, Nakayla Jones, Samija Smith; great-grandchildren, Denim Wilkins and Legend Jones; sisters, Christine (Niecy) Ball Buie, Tina Ball, Tracy Ball, Nina Dixon, Ethel Smith, Sherrie (husband, Mark) Nevings Harris, brothers, David L. (wife, Teresa) Nevings, Stephen (wife, Helen), and David (wife, Tifanie) Nevings; spiritual mother, Helen Poole; aunts, Annie Horton and Laquitta Horton; special friends, Peggy Nunn, Tomeka Brown and Oshia Brown; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, bonus dad, David Nevings, brothers, Keith Ball and Duke Ball.
