David Alexander Marable passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022, with his brother, William and sister Vera by his side. David Marable was born on October 23, 1959, in Durham, North Carolina to the late Philip Marable and Emma Louise Boswell Marable. Growing up in Durham, David developed an early interest in music and ham radio. He graduated Jordan High School where he played trumpet at the state level, earning first seat. At East Carolina University, David studied several disciplines before returning to Durham. While in Durham, he worked at J.C. Penny’s in electronics, then for Xerox, and Burrows Welcome in their document replication departments. David ended his career with the State of North Carolina, where he worked in the Department of Public Instruction.
David built several friendships through the years with a wide variety of people through his easy-going manner. In is spare time he participated in playing trumpet with an ensemble that supported many venues in and around Durham with their music. David also was a Red Cross volunteer that helped with many in need during storms and other disasters impacting the Durham area.
David is survived by his siblings Alger (Antioch, CA); Vera Mangrum (Winston) Anderson, IN; William (Connie) Upper Marlboro, MD, and Reginald (Sherlie) Orlando, Florida. Also mourning his lost are nephews Philip Marable, Michael Marable, Jonathan Mangrum, Roumound Edingburg, and Michael Givens; as well as nieces, Catherine Mangrum, Ceylon Marable-Dell, and Jessica Marable-Levai.
Also, left to cherish his memory is his long term very special friend and love, Imelda Paguio, of Olongapo City in the Philippines.
