Cheryl Lynn Hester passed away unexpectedly on Jan 29th, 2024, at the age of 54. She was a lifetime resident of Anderson Indiana.
Cheryl was born on January 7th, 1970, to Deacon Ishmon G. Hester, Sr. and Ernestine B. Byrd. She was known for her amazing cooking skills, talking stuff and her beautiful contagious smile. Cheryl never met a stranger you were either family or a friend. She graduated from Oakland College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration and was a Culinary Arts Major at Ivy Tech Community College. She had plans to launch her own business “Hambones” named after her late father Ishmon Hester, Sr., which would have featured recipes from her late mother, Ernestine Byrd in the coming year. She stayed rattling some pots and pans. She could make a meal out of nothing, which was one of her many talents. Even though at times she did not have much to give she was always willing to offer anyone a meal.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Chanta Hopkins, Norfolk, VA. Robin Ewing, Indianapolis, IN. Tommy Ewing, St. Louis, MO. Kayla Hester, San Antonio, TX. Ishmon Hester III, Anderson, IN. Her seven grandchildren, Elijah Wilkins II, Kaylie Ewing, Makayla Long, Calvin Long III, Kingston Hester.
Her siblings, Ishmon Hester, Jr., (Allean) San Antonio, TX. Gean Hester, Marion, IN. Deborah Hester, Muncie, IN. Micheal Hester, Norfolk, VA. Randall Byrd (Byvonda) Anderson, IN. Honorary sisters and best friends, Lesia Moore, Memphis, TN. Jaunice Allen, Anderson, IN. Lavonica Stewart, Muncie, IN., and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
