Billie Joe May Jr. Obituary
Billie Joe May, Jr. 86, Entered Heavens Gates on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was born June 26, 1934 in Grady, AL to Billie Joe (B.J.), Sr. and Ruby R. May. Billie graduated from Helicon High School in Grady and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Delco Remy in 1996 and was a member of U.A.W. 662 and Sherman Street Church of God. Billie enjoyed fishing, barbequing, spending time with family and friends and eating.
Billie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Willie Mae (Moore) May, two sons, Barney R. May and Maurice (Gretta) A. May; five daughters, Kenyatta A. (Korey) Carter, Yolanda E. (Thomas) McCroskey, Malaika A. (Cameron) Bell, TieLasha R. Bumphus, and Staysha (Jeffrey) Arnold; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Reeba (May) Cooper and a brother, James C. May.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe, Sr. and Ruby May; two sons, Kelvin (K.K.) May, Raynard A. May and one brother, L.C. May.
Services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at L.C. May Funeral Services in Anderson, IN with visitation taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Ragen B. Mitchell, Senior Pastor of Sherman Street Church of God, will deliver the eulogy and burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson. The service will be available for viewing via live streaming on the funeral home website at www.lcmayfuneralservices.com. Per COVID-19 precautions, all attendees will be required to wear masks.
