Averielle Smith Obituary

Life Reflections

Averielle Scherie Smith was born June 9, 1970 at St. Johns Hospital in Muncie, Indiana to the late Adlena J. King and Edward “Sonny” Davidson. Scherie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Scherie was a devoted mother to her daughter Monique; they were like twins. Scherie loved to sing, was a wonderful cook and had a bright and energetic personality.  Her family and friends knew her as a kind soul, always willing to help others and cheer loved ones up with her cooking. She was humorous, talented and outspoken.  Scherie worked as a CNA for several years and loved her career. Scherie was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

“Mom was not only my mom.  She was my mentor, my teacher, my strength and inspiration…she was my best friend.” Monique R. Moss

The world lost a beloved mother.  On Thursday June 17, 2021 God called his child Scherie home.  Scherie is preceded in death by her mother Adlena J. King and Edward “Sonny” Davidson; brother, William J. Smith; brother, James Bernard Jamison II.

She leaves to cherish memories of her life in the hearts of her daughter, Monique R. Moss; brothers and sisters, Scharlene A. Boyd, Willma Kay Rayford, Darren K. Rayford, Marchelle D. Davidson, Edward LeShon Davidson; Stepfather Bishop Milton Smith and stepmother Michelle Smith.
