Mildred was born to Melvin W. and Eddie Mae Montgomery Turner on Friday, September 24,1948, in Gadsden, Alabama surrounded by family. She passed to her Heavenly home on November 25, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. In 1970, she moved to Anderson, Indiana. Where she was able to build a new life with the support of Uncle Cicero and Aunt Emma Montgomery. She worked at various factories in the area. However, Mildred also knew how to play hard. She enjoyed gathering with friends and family, bingo, fishing, travelling, and anything that involved getting dressed up. She was known as quite a colorful, spicy person with a mind of her own. There was never a dull moment, and she never met a stranger. If there was any event, hospital visit, road trip, funeral, birth, or anything else, Mildred was sure to be there.
She leaves to cherish all those wonderful memories her children: Samuel Smith, Ronald Turner, Terrance Turner, Yada Turner, Shawn Wilkerson, Tanithe Colvin, and special nephew Willie Colvin; 5 grandchildren: Janisha, Rodrick, Emmberly, Deandré, and Serenity; 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Carrie Lee Turner Eddie Lee Turner and Savoy Lee Turner and other loved ones.
