Laura Airlean Edwards was born March 21, 1940, to Bettie McFearn and Raymond Robinson in Shoffner, Arkansas. She was called home by the Lord on December 1, 2021, after a brief illness at the age of 81.
Laura spent her early years in Jonesboro, Arkansas where she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Her journey then took her briefly to Harvey, IL and on to Anderson, IN where she resided for over 50 years. Laura was employed by Community Hospital from whence she retired. After leaving Community Hospital, she was then employed at St. John’s Hospital where she also retired after 10 years of service.
Laura was a faithful member of Anderson Zion Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she devoutly served on the usher board. She was also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her five children, Lurlean (Tony) Gillespie of Anderson, IN, Napoleon Price Jr. of Parker City, IN, Carmealynn Jenkins, Grace Turner of Athens, AL, Sherry Price of Memphis, TN, nine grandchildren, Ladonnis (Nina) Price of Fayetteville, NC, Amber (Timotheus) Mason of Athens, AL, Tyler Moore of Anderson, Charnetta Turner of Athens, AL, Tony Gillispie of Indianapolis, IN, Sherretta Turner of Florence, AL, Tyra Gillispie of Anderson, IN, Na’Brea and Bella Price of Parker City, 12 great-grandchildren, Sisters; Annie (Alonzo) Haynes of El Paso, TX, Bettie (David) May of Anderson, IN, Ida-Nell Gardner, Rosetta Brown, Verna Stanford, Lanona Gaye Robinson, Alesia Neal, Evonne Flemming, Virginia Hill, Ella Tate, Brothers; Robert Scales Sr. of Jonesboro, AR, Ray Robinson and Marvin Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alton Edwards, Sister & Brothers; Searcy (Herbert) McGhee, Chester (Carla) McFearn, Elijah (Elvita) McFearn, Earl Robinson, Betty Nicholson.
