Jeremiah Dixon, age 65, went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2024, at Community Hospital Anderson, IN after a health crisis and brief illness.
He was born in Anderson, IN on July 19, 1958, to the late J.T. and Frances Lee (Boyd) Dixon. He graduated from Madison Heights-Anderson High School in 1976. He graduated from Ball State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections and Sociology. Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force as a Law Enforcement Specialist. He achieved several awards, such as the Overseas Long Tour Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He served one year and 11 months overseas. He retired as a Correctional Officer from the Indiana Correctional Center in Pendleton, IN.
Jerry is survived by his son Andrew Jeremiah Dixon, granddaughter Nyla Dixon, sister Daree (Dean) Sailes, brother O.P. (Mary Ann) Dixon, R.C. Dixon, Ruby Dixon, Carrie Dixon, James Dixon, a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents (J.T. and Frances Dixon), sister Gussie Roberts (and husband, Ben Roberts), nephews Jairone Dixon and Andrae` Sailes and great-nephew D’Vonte Dixon-Hamilton.
