Christine R. Bailey was born June 26, 1940,
in Talladega, Alabama, to the late William T. and Artelia
O. Richardson. Later, the family moved to Anniston,
Alabama. At a young age, Christine became an active
member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
After graduating from Cobb Avenue High School,
Christine moved to Anderson, Indiana, where she met
and married her late husband, Lucious Bailey. She was
a dedicated worker in the Anderson City School System
until retirement. After retirement, she moved back to
Anniston to be closer to family.
On May 12, 2021, Christine departed this life’s journey
to begin her eternal journey with the heavenly Father.
Loved ones that preceded her in death were: husband,
Lucious Bailey; daughter, Katina Bailey; brother, John
E. Richardson; and great-grandson, Brayden Williams.
Christine leaves to cherish her loving memories:
daughter, Barbara R. Williams (Anniston, Alabama);
grandchildren, Armisha (Willie) Williams (Anniston,
Alabama), Jamar Williams (Atlanta, Georgia),
Alexandria Bailey (Cleveland, Ohio), and Herman Bailey,
Jr. (Cleveland, Ohio); great-grandchildren, Tavonte
Wiliams, Cardell Heard, Jacoby Heard, and Sophia
Williams; stepson, Herman Bailey, Sr. (Cleveland, Ohio);
sister, Willie Jenkins (Anniston, Alabama); brothers,
Oscar (Joan) Richardson (Schaumburg, Illinois) and
Henry Richardson (Birmingham, Alabama); sister-in-law,
Lamurel Richardson (Huntsville, Alabama); and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
We will all greatly miss those delicious pound cakes and that contagious smile.
