Obituary

Cecily "CeCe" Hendricks

Cecily Hendricks was born on December 1st, 1955 in Anderson, Indiana to Fannie Lee Wright and Jimmie Lee Hendricks. The 3rd of 5 children, Cecily has always had a dynamic personality. A natural explorer and lover of learning, Cecily excelled in school. During her tenure at Anderson High School, she was a straight-a student, top athlete, thespian and member of the student council.

After graduating with honors in 1974, Cecily went on to attend the prestigious Clark Atlanta University, where she majored in Psychology and became a member of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. With her sharp-wit, fashion-sense & exuberant character, she quickly became a campus staple. After graduating with her B.A. in Psychology, she went on to work for the City of Atlanta. She moved back to Indiana in the late 80’s, where she worked for Bronnenberg Children’s Home and Indianapolis Public Schools. Cecily was a devoted child advocate and took her work very seriously. She was also an extremely supportive and loving sister and aunt. Affectionately known as “Aunt Cee Cee”, Cecily was very instrumental in the lives of her nephews and nieces and treated them as her own.
A lifetime member of Wallace Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, Cecily served on the usher board as well as the choir.

Cecily will be fondly remembered by sister Kimberly Hendricks Harris, niece Stacey Lynn Kelley (Victor), nephew Marveice Wakann Harris, nephew Emiel Donce Wilson, niece Tashika Netree Harris, nephew Sydney James Stewart, niece Ashley Virginia Hendrick, niece Mariah Lutece Hendricks, nephew Carl Hendricks (Crystal), nephew Tyrone Evans, niece Mariah Hendricks, Aunt Lena Bostic, brother in-law Austin Lockett, sister in-law Che Che Hendricks, special brother/Cousin Larry Allen Gholston, special sister-in-law Martha L.
